The small village of Castellaro Lagusello is a bit away from the tourists area of Lake Garda, the largest of all the lakes of the North Italy and it has preserved the medieval charm of its historic walls. In 2002, the Touring Club has awarded Castellaro Lagusello an orange flag and it has praised the site as one of the "most beautiful cities of Italy." In 2011 UNESCO recognized the status of cultural heritage. Already the people of the Bronze Age lived in houses on stilts. The current center is located on a small lake, which is shaped like a heart.
The place of Castellaro Lagusello provides a carefree holiday, because it has excellent restaurants and a variety of accommodations, a few streets corner, an old church and a castle of the 12th century.
The castle is privately owned by the family Scala, which has been trying for many years with love to preserve the plant. The city was founded around the 11th century in the form of a ring wall.
Castellaro Lagusello is a drawbridge, leading to a square tower door. The baroque church is dedicated to St. Nicholas, and the wooden statue of the Madonna of the great 15th century is the flagship of the small community. On the square, the splendid Villa Arrighi-Tacoli, not to be overlooked. After dark the place is illuminated with a special magic, because the castle and the church are enlightened.
